Instructions
Sift 1 teaspoon matcha powder into a small bowl or cup to remove any clumps.
Pour in ¼ cup hot water (not boiling). Then use a bamboo whisk, electric frother, or small whisk to blend the matcha until smooth and frothy.
Stir in the maple syrup or another sweetener to taste. Then add vanilla extract, if desired.
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and pour the almond milk over the ice.
Slowly pour the matcha mixture over the almond milk for a layered effect. Stir gently to combine the matcha and almond milk.
